Win As much as 285 Free Hyatt Resort Nights With Grand Hyatt Singapore’s Moments of Extra Contest

One of Singapore’s longest running hotels, Grand Hyatt Singapore, closed temporarily in 2022 for a total refurbishment. The property is expected to reopen in phases from Q1 of 2024 onwards and will take on the themes of “a grand living room” and “wellness haven” in the Orchard Road area. With 699 guestrooms and suites, the refurbished hotel will be complemented by theatrical gourmet and lifestyle concepts.

I personally remember dining and having staycations in the property. I have fond memories of their club lounge and the attentive service of staff members there. I also remember the delightful Sunday brunches at mezza9 so I’m quite excited to see how the Grand Hyatt Singapore will look like once it reopens. The refurbishment will take over a year to complete so it’s likely that we’ll see a very different Grand Hyatt Singapore when it reopens.

In the lead up to the grand reopening of the property, Grand Hyatt Singapore has launched a one-of-a-kind visual storytelling contest, inviting everyone to share their most treasured off-the-beaten path experiences in Singapore. The grand prize is one million World of Hyatt points that can be used to redeem free nights, room upgrades, gourmet and wellness experiences at Hyatt hotels worldwide.

The good news is that travelers worldwide can take part in the contest. It is not restricted to residents of Singapore. To take part, participants need to be at least eighteen (18) years of age.

Contestants can upload a maximum of 6 media files (file type: JPG, PNG, MP4) with accompanying caption under any of the following themes:

·         Local recreation activities

·         Ways to recharge in nature

·         Sustainability activities

Deadline for submission is on the 29th of September 2023. Entries will be judged based on 3 criteria – 40% creativity and aesthetics, 50% originality and 10% public appeal based on public voting.

There will be 5 prizes awarded in all for the contest. One Grand Prize winner will be rewarded with 1 million World of Hyatt points and the other four will each win a 2-night stay in the refurbished Grand Hyatt Singapore with S$600 hotel credits.

Is One Million World of Hyatt Points a Lot?

World of Hyatt points can be redeemed for room stays at Hyatt properties around the world. The number of points required to redeem a free night depends on the hotel category as well as the seasonality of the date of stay. Hyatt has off-peak, standard and peak categories for dates while their properties are divided into 8 tiers depending on the price range.

That said, a stay in the lowest tiered property (category 1) during off-peak requires just 3,500 points. With a prize of 1 million points, one can theoretically redeem up to 285 nights under these conditions.

If luxury stays are more up your alley, it will be helpful to note that an off-peak stay at a category 8 property requires 35,000 points while a peak stay requires 45,000 points. This translates to a maximum of 28 and 22 nights accordingly with 1 million points.
