Three major Hong Kong-based airlines – Cathay Pacific, Hong Kong Airlines, and Greater Bay Airlines – will give away 24,000 tickets from South Korea to the SAR as part of the Hello Hong Kong campaign to encourage tourists to visit the city, starting May 16.
Cathay Pacific will award 10,602 economy round-trip tickets to passengers from Seoul to Hong Kong between May 16 and 22, 2023. To qualify, participants must be at least 19 years old and be registered Cathay members. The winners will be announced on June 1, and will get a redemption code via email, which they must activate within one month. Tickets are valid for nine months after they have been redeemed.
Once redeemed, the ticket can be used for a trip that lasts 2–7 days. Winners must pay all taxes and surcharges that apply to their tickets.
According to Korean media, the remaining tickets (13,398) will be split between Hong Kong Airlines and Greater Bay Airlines. These airlines have not yet revealed the details about how many tickets they will award passengers, but the Hong Kong World Of Winners website states that Greater Bay Airlines will run a lucky draw and buy-one-get-one free offers from May 16-July 31, while Hong Kong Airlines will give tickets away on a first-come-first served basis from May 17-19.
Various giveaway campaigns for complimentary tickets for travellers to Hong Kong from different countries began from March 1, with tickets already given out to travellers from Southeast Asia, Mainland China, the UK and Europe. Cathay Pacific is expected to announce gifted tickets from North America, Australia, and New Zealand to Hong Kong later this month.
